Your to-do list is long, you know what you need to do, but for some reason, you just can’t get your mind to the point where you can pay attention and focus. Lack of focus can be as a result of many things. Well, whatever the reason, the Lord can help you concentrate and get motivated.
Your Prayer for Focus
Heavenly Father, thank you that You are constant and never change.
Even when I feel distracted, overwhelmed and all over the place, Lord you are my Rock. How lovely it is to run to You and seek refuge in Your presence.
Lord, I come to You confessing that I feel scattered and unfocused.
As I look to You to help me focus, please let me know if there is something deeper going on. Help me to understand the source of my distraction.
At this moment I ask that You will calm my spirit and fill me with Your peace that passes all understanding.
I ask that You will give me laser-like focus and help me block out any distractions that are vying for my attention. I know the enemy is busy and the battle is for my mind. The enemy wants to keep me unfocused so that I will stray away from Your purposes for me. I bind the enemy right now in the name of Jesus Christ and block all his attempts at destroying my focus and clarity.
Father, I thank you that You are the ultimate burden bearer and that I can bring everything to You.
I bring all my worries and anxieties to You right now. Help me to trust in You as the sovereign God, believing that You are able to work out every situation. If it’s financial issues that have me distracted, help me to trust You as Jehovah Jireh, my provider. If it’s a relational issue, I pray that you will bring about reconciliation, understanding and forgiveness in the relationship. If it’s a health issue that has the focus of my mind, Lord, help me to trust in Your healing power and perfect will for my life.
Lord, I also confess that there are times when I am unfocused because I just don’t feel like doing what I know I should be doing.
I speak against the spirit of laziness. Give me the energy and courage that I need to live on purpose and with passion. Give me a spirit of diligence and productivity so that I may walk in Your way. Order my steps and help me to be obedient to You and Your Word. Give me the grace to stay close to you and depend on you moment by moment to complete the tasks that You have called me to do. Help me not to get overwhelmed or caught up in what’s ahead, but help me to focus on the matter at hand.
